We're feeling quiet here. It's winter, but the weather feels like spring. Warm and sunny with temps in the 60s. Roger is two days away from completing Round 6. Only two more rounds to go. Side effects are more noticeable at this point in the treatment. We are counting down the days.
Here are two sightings from the past few days.
One of our little bucks, looking in the window one morning, while I was making tea. I'm pretty sure I was whispering hello to him, at the moment.
We're looking forward to a sunny warm week, even with the doctor appointments and blood tests.

Sweet meteorological reprieve, always nice; hope this week is good for you guys.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of one of the deer looking in while you two are in quiet time, looking forward.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to be able to picture you two in your lovely setting. Glad of the spring-like weather. Hope Roger has a good week, the sunshine makes feeling not-so-great not-quite-so-bad.
ReplyDeleteLove from Via
So glad you all are getting close to the end of this Chemo ordeal. Each day completed is one less that needs done. Soon.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe that deer came up to look in at you. What a special event. I would have been afraid to breathe for fear of running him off.
It's warmed up some here also. I awoke to -4° compared to yesterdays -11°. Stay warm!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about those side effects, and I hope that the nature shots can help take the pain away.
ReplyDeleteHello! Been thinking about you lately. Just had a fever about that lasted a week. Probably, because I had to treat it myself...a calculated risk to be sure. But, on the earmark day for ER, the fever stopped and I'm on the mend. More than ever was I aware how precarious it is for millions of us. I have no insurance, simply can't afford it on SS and a tiny pension. A major ER stay of a few hours cost me over 2K and that was a decade ago.
ReplyDeleteSo, to wit, I scrounged up some antibiotics four years old hoping that I'd be Ok. With only two months away from Medicare I couldn't afford to have my plan B compromised by some inner office insurance flag. If there is something major it will have to fester until Spring. Do you ever get the feeling corporations actuallt want us to die? Don't miss Michael Moore's latest: 'Capitalism: A Love Affair.'...an amazing documentary. Until then, Roger...heal and be well. Robin, thinking of you during these quiey foggy mornings and watch the first tulips poking up. On my first day out after a week I made it to the mailbox and back and thought, Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. It felt like the first day after a seshin. Peace to you two! xxxoooo Mandt
"My, those plants look like good eating. I think I'll... Oops! A human! Maybe not...."
ReplyDeleteI wonder why so many species of woodpeckers have the same basic design, with just slight variations to set them apart. Yours is a striking fellow.
I hope the proximity to the end of treatments makes enduring the side effects easier. I'm sure your reverse Algernon scheme will come off without a hitch!
i'm so glad for the warmer, sunnier weather, too!
ReplyDeletealso glad roger's nearing the end of chemo cycles. very sorry that the effects have been harder, though. xoxo
as always, such great photos. that buck is a cutie.
Hoping for a quiet, positive week for you both... and that deer.
ReplyDeleteSpring weather in the midst of winter is such a treat. Good luck with the count down.
ReplyDeletefeeling quiet here, too, and it helped to be gone for a few days. now I just want to hunker down. My to-do list is long and my don't-wanna-do-it is even longer.
ReplyDeletewish the chemo were easier...poor sweet Roger. crossing fingers, sending out love and hope.
quiet strength and health be yours
ReplyDeleteThinking of you both and sending healing energies your way - chemo is awful stuff.
