We are on a roller coaster. We hope you don't mind a bumpy ride, because that's definitely the kind of ride we are on. Roger's pathology report showed that the cancer was found in four of twenty lymph nodes. There is a PET scan in our future, a meeting with an oncologist, and chemotherapy. The health care detour continues. We will keep you posted.
I will be on this ride with you through all the ups and downs. Occasionally I will scream my head off. And I will think of you both every single day.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that they only found cells in four of the twenty; the bad news is that one is one too many. It's going to be harder this way, but, Roger, you can do harder. Keeping good thoughts for you.
ReplyDeletei'm on for the ride, too. sending many hugs. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThinking of you.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOOOOO all the way with ya's MandT
ReplyDeleteWhat I said on your FB page. And what Carolyn said. And Cathy.
ReplyDeleteLike Harold and all the other people near and far who care about you, I wish it could have been easier.
ReplyDeleteStay strong, hold onto each other, and as we used to say in the sixties, Keep the faith.
Lots of people are pulling for you.
I'm with you on the ride and, yes, I scream and holler, too! You're both in my thoughts and prayers every day. Many hugs! xoxoxox

I've always hated rollercoasters.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you both in my thoughts and sending courage and warmth, as well...

That is definitely a stumbling block, but it can be a stepping-stone to a good future also. I will keep good thoughts and hope for the best. Attitude is half the battle, so try to maintain that if you can.
ReplyDeleteThe rollercoaster is certainly an apt metaphor. Small steps - and getting that major source out is certainly a good one. As others have said, we're with you in spirit here, Robin and Roger. Keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts your way. Stay strong!
ReplyDeleteAw Shit!!
ReplyDeleteWaiting for more good news.
Nice pole dance in the sunshine.
More love.
I've left a message on FB, but am leaving one here too.
ReplyDeleteAlthough this new piece of information sucks and isn't what we had all hoped to hear, I know it was probably not entirely unexpected. However, as I wrote on FB, you're over that first big wave - the surgery. Now it's time to concentrate energy on healing and getting well and as strong as you can in this lull before you reach the second wave. Rest, good food, good thoughts and whatever else it takes. This is now the most important thing to work on.
As you know, wd'll all be here to take care of sending positive thoughts.
Not what anyone wanted to hear. As Harold said, this may be harder but it is also doable.
ReplyDeleteDo everything on your end to help the doctors on their end.
Stay strong---both of you and lean when you need to.
No words are adequate, so just a hug.

Yeah, me too, on all the ups and downs. Your biggest assets are your remarkable close partnership, and your already healthy lifestyle. Now add some good medical intervention, a positive attitude, and the love and support of your community and let's hope the recipe turns out superbly. Sending much love!

ReplyDeleteKim has it just right. It's not as if you have to make any life style/habit changes -- you're already there! Though I hate roller coasters, I'll stay on this one with you guys -- we can all holler our heads of together, and maybe have some good belly (ouch) laughs along the way.
ReplyDeleteOne day at a time, my dear ones. xxxxoooo
prayers coming your way
ReplyDeleteSending love.
ReplyDeleteAs TaraDharma said, one day at a time.
There's a bird outside my window, singing for the two of you.
There is an upside to all this, Roger. Chances are good that by the time you get the all-clear from your oncologist your fear of being stuck with needles will be a distant memory.
ReplyDeleteHey Guys. This writeup is marvelous!! Me and my wife totally love this this writer's words
