Things Settle Down

Roger is feeling much better. He stopped taking pain medication Friday night, and all is well. He's definitely on the road to full recovery. Life is starting to feel reliably safe again, and relatively normal for us. Well except for this... these two bucks seemed to enjoy Roger's company quite a bit. They didn't run or get spooked at all while he was busy pulling out thistle. They hung around for a long while just on the other side of the fence, eating the low grasses and checking out the new healthy guy.

    Ah, the Buck Brothers!! What handsome fellows they are. And then there's Roger...handsome and as good as they come. Glad to know that life feels safe again. Cheers!

    Sweet! So good to hear Roger's feeling good. He looks great!
    Those fellers' horns are sure bigger than the ones we saw on deer in Ashland, OR, as they mosied around the little house we were staying in last week.

    Did you toss the thistle over the fence for them? Perhaps they thought Roger was preparing a buffet for them.

    Or maybe Roger is just the Deer Whisperer.
