I received an email today from my former supervisor and dear friend. The subject line said it all: Bobcat. When I opened the email and looked at the photographs, it was the first time in a while that I actually missed my old job, or at least the window at my desk that looked out on the meadow, where I had watched the bobcats. The young woman who now sits there saw this bobcat, and as luck would have it, the student newspaper photographer walked in with the newspaper's brand new digital camera. Mason Cohn took 90 shots of this young bobcat which was hunting the ground squirrels that make the meadows their home. The bobcat's presence caused such a commotion at the Press Center (my former place of employment), she didn't get her meal, but she did allow herself to be photographed quite beautifully.
