Yesterday we turned on the TV in the morning. Something we rarely do, but wanted to see Libby walk up to the court house to be arraigned. There are some things that should not be missed. Here in pacific standard time, Libby was hobbling up those steps at 7:30 in the morning. We were still in our lazy bums bed, sipping tea, listening to our first storm of the season. Of course, there wasn't much to see, so we muted the TV and went on to start the day.
A bit later, walking through the bedroom I noticed this fine reflection of CNN on the back of the satellite dish. There was something about this image that made me think of news as mere reflection of the thing and not the thing itself. We can only suspect what has been overlooked by the preposterousness of today's journalism, as it has long settled for being an illusion-- so shallow, indistinct, full of air and not really there at all.
(More fun with the camera on a rainy day.)
