At first glance I thought that white stuff was foam! Silly brain. (We just got home from band rehearsal, and my synapses are a bit worn out from going over "Bolero.") That's a fine-looking duck.

Regarding your sandhill cranes, it's driving me crazy that none of the migration maps I can find have them flying over you. If you find out where do they come from, where do they go please please let enquiring minds know.

I think they are such beautiful birds and I have yet to see one in the wild. Thanks for those great pictures and consider yourself lucky.
