

Spring turns the world bright green, and the air softens into an invitation to play outside.


Flowers bloom. The pink one is called a Fairy Slipper (Calypso bulbosa) and is a wild orchid, the only species of this genus found in the northern latitudes.


Through an open door, this hummingbird flew into my sister's house, perched on the doorframe, and wondered why it came inside when there is no nectar to be found here.
