We took a minus tide walk on Friday. We saw eagles, kingfishers, seagulls, and herons. What really intrigued us, though, was this fallen tree. We think it gives you an idea of the difference between high and low tides here. On Friday it was 10 feet. It's no Bay of Fundy, but still it's a significant difference. This tree, which looks snow-covered on this spring day, is really a mess of barnacles and mussels. (Click to enlarge)
