Hiroshima Remembered

We found this lovely image on the website Sadako and The Thousand Paper Cranes. I was looking for something that would commemorate this somber day. I read many poems, haikus, and stories. I looked at haunting photographs catalogues of items that were separated from the human bodies that held them at the moment of impact: the carbonized lunchbox, the melted belt buckle. But I was most drawn to this image.
